Troop 100 develops Youth Leaders.

All Scouts in the Troop have opportunities to develop their leadership capacity – whether as peers, or when serving in specific positions of responsibility.

Meeting and event leaders include the Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders, who are elected by the Scouts, along with Scouts serving in positions of responsibility, who are appointed by the elected youth leaders in consultation with the Scoutmaster.

Scouts who are interested in serving in a position of responsibility should discuss their interest with the Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster.

Adult leaders in Scouting America (Scouters) guide and support youth-led units. Adult leaders split into two main groups: direct contact (such as the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters) who mentor youth, and committee members (such as the Treasurer and Secretary) who handle behind-the-scenes administration.

The Adult Leader selection process emphasizes Youth Safety. All leaders must pass a background check and complete Youth Protection Training. All adult leaders are approved by our Chartering Organization Representative.
